Guest lecturer at the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), Lausanne, Switzerland

Weyhe near Bremen (Germany) – 23.11.2021 – Claus Michael Sattler. Interim manager, consultant, book author, keynote speaker and university lecturer for “Digitalization, Digital Transformation, Industry 4.0, Reference Architecture Model Industry 4.0 (RAMI 4.0), Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Made in China 2025” will speak at the November 27, 2021 and November 28, 2021 as a guest lecturer on the challenges of digital transformation for managers as part of the MBA program of the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), Lausanne, Switzerland. In the digital transformation, Sattler has been instrumental in coining terms such as “Indirect Preventive Maintenance”, “Logic Data-Bridge” and “Simply think differently about data!” in connection with Industry 4.0. In Lausanne, his practical part complements the lectures of the renowned Kellogg HKUST and IMD professor Prof. Dr. Karl Schmedders.

In his lectures, Sattler will shed light on several key aspects of today’s data management challenges facing companies.

  1. Only those who know the past will be able to shape the future.
  2. Using examples from motorsport and food retailing, endogenous and exogenous influences on available data, data to be generated and additional data required are presented.
  3. The theoretical principles of the Reference Architecture Model Industry 4.0 (RAMI 4.0) are presented using examples from the world of a medium-sized mechanical engineering company and a medium-sized manufacturer of pharmaceuticals.
  4. Sattler will also use two examples to present the principle of the Data Fabric and the Smart Data Fabric, which can be used to overcome the significant limitations of media disruptions and data silos, which he described in the book “Digital Transformation of Services in Healthcare VII – Impulses for the Pharmaceutical Industry”.
  5. Finally, the students will take on the role of a newly hired Chief Digital Officer (CDO) and apply the techniques and methods they have learned in the context of a fictitious brewery.

Claus Michael Sattler is co-author of the books “Digitale Transformation von Dienstleistungen im Gesundheitswesen VII – Impulse für die Pharmaindustrie” and “Künstliche Intelligenz im Gesundheitswesen – Entwicklungen, Beispiele und Perspektiven”, which were edited by Prof. Dr. Mario A. Pfannstiel and published by Springer-Gabler-Verlag. He is also the author of the books “Enterprise Management” (Addison Wesley Verlag), “Daten einfach anders denken! – The undiscovered gold of companies!” (publication date Q1.2024) and “Simply think data differently!
