Artificial intelligence in healthcare

The book “Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare – Developments, Examples and Perspectives” by editor Prof. Dr. Mario A. Pfannstiel from the Neu Ulm University of Applied Sciences was published by Springer Gabler Verlag. I was able to contribute to this book alongside many other authors.

My sample copy arrived today, April 5, 2022, at 1:32 pm via DHL in Weyhe near Bremen. The standard work for information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) in the healthcare sector and the interpretation of the data collected in this way weighs 1,672g and has an incredible 905 pages. A real heavyweight among the standard works.

Co-author

I am one of the co-authors of this wonderful book. My chapter is entitled: “Simply think differently about data! Big data (BD) and artificial intelligence (AI) in practice”. You can find my chapter on page 521 to page 546.

I would especially like to thank the team around Prof. Dr. Mario A. Pfannstiel and the team at the renowned Springer Gabler Verlag! It has become a standard work for the healthcare sector that is well worth reading and has a very good design. Many thanks also to the other co-authors.

In the lectures

I’m very excited to see when I can incorporate the knowledge from this book into my lectures “Digitalization, Digital Transformation, Industry 4.0, Reference Architecture Model Industry 4.0 (RAMI 4.0), Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Made in China 2025” and “Smart Home, Smart Office, Smart Factory, Smart City, Smart Country, Smart World” as part of the MBA and EMBA program at the International Graduate Center (IGC) of Bremen City University of Applied Science (HSB) and in my guest lectures at the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), Lausanne, Switzerland, and at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar near Koblenz, Germany, as part of the EMBA program at Northwestern University – Kellogg School of Management.
